Migration Colombia in compliance with the norm and its functions as a migration authority recalls the obligation to meet the migration requirements for the departure from Colombia of Colombian or foreign children and adolescents holders of a Colombian type R (resident) visa or Venezuelan holders of the Permit by Temporary Protection (PPT).
In strict compliance with the provisions of Law 1098 of 2006, the director of Colombian Migration, Fernando García Manosalva, stresses the importance of presenting the following documents when leaving the country in these cases:
- Valid and current passport.
- Copy or photocopy of the Civil Registry of Birth.
- Exit ticket from Colombia.
- Visa, in case the country of destination requires it.
- Exit permit granted by the parents or father who does not accompany the trip of the minor.
In the event that one of the parents of the minor is abroad, they may go to the nearest Colombian consulate and grant permission to leave the country before the consular authority. You can also grant an exit permit authenticated before a foreign notary. In this case, the permit must be duly apostilled and the original must be presented on the day of the trip.
If a parent is in Colombia, they can grant the exit permit duly authenticated before a notary public and this document must be presented in original on the day of the trip.
